Android is the most flexible platform for IPTV in Belgium whether you are setting up a living-room TV box, watching on a phone during a commute or using a tablet as a second screen. This guide covers setup on all three device types with TiviMate and IPTV Smarters, including EPG configuration and tips for stable streaming on mobile data.
Android IPTV on TV boxes
Android TV boxes offer the most flexible IPTV setup for Belgian living-room viewers. Models such as the Xiaomi Mi Box S, Mecool KM2 and NVIDIA Shield all run Android TV and support TiviMate directly from Google Play. Android TV boxes sit between your television's HDMI port and your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network, doing all the streaming processing independently of the television.
Install TiviMate from Google Play, open it and choose Add Playlist, then M3U Playlist. Enter your M3U URL from the WhatsApp activation message. TiviMate loads all channels within 60 seconds and organises them into categories. For the EPG guide, go to Settings, then EPG, and enter the EPG URL provided in your activation message alongside the M3U URL.
Android IPTV on phones
Watching Belgian channels on an Android phone is practical for commuters, travellers and anyone away from their main television. Install IPTV Smarters Pro from Google Play, add your subscription credentials and all channels are available on your phone screen. The app supports landscape orientation for comfortable viewing.
Mobile data works for standard viewing. For 4K quality streams on a phone, a strong 5G connection or Wi-Fi is needed. On 4G with a stable connection, UHD quality streams well without buffering. Switch the stream quality to 1080p in the app settings if you notice buffering on mobile data.
Android IPTV on tablets
Tablets provide a more comfortable mid-size viewing experience than phones. The setup process is identical to Android phones. IPTV Smarters Pro on a tablet gives you a usable viewing experience for travel, kitchen viewing or as a secondary screen during sports events.
For tablets running Android 10 or newer, TiviMate also runs smoothly when not connected to a TV box. The tablet EPG interface in TiviMate is less optimised than the TV box version but functional for planning viewing sessions.
Configuring TiviMate for Belgian channels
After entering your M3U URL in TiviMate, navigate to Settings and set your preferred language for the interface. Then go to the Channels section and check that Belgian channels appear in their correct folder. If channels appear but without EPG data, verify that you have entered the EPG URL correctly in Settings > EPG Sources.
TiviMate Premium users can enable catch-up by going to Settings, then Player, and enabling Catch-up. The catch-up icon appears in the EPG guide on supported channels. Press and hold OK on a channel in the guide to see the available replay options for that channel over the past 7 days.
